What the hell is a Codech?
Basically, the name comes from the three dogs that have shared their life with me. Cody, Delta, and Charlie.
Cody, a Border Collie x Australian Cattle Dog, was the dog that really sucked me into the competitive world of dog sports. He became mine after a deal was finally sealed with my ex- he could have a projector TV if I could have a dog. Never underestimate how far a guy will go for technology. Unfortunately Cody died in March 2007, a week after his second birthday.
Delta, the female Border Collie I had wanted since childhood, entered my life in February 2007 as a mate for Cody. She only got to know him for 3 weeks...
Charlie, my exception to the rule dog. I shocked everyone at training by turning up one day with a dog that was not a border collie. I picked him up from the RSPCA when I decided Delta shouldn't be left alone, figuring that a Kelpie x Australian Cattle Dog would be fairly similar. Boy was I wrong. As much as I love him, he is definitely not comparable to a Border Collie.
So, what is this going to be about?
Well, I have just signed up for a company that finds homes for dogs to stay in while their owners are on holidays. Basically, my place will be a holiday resort for these poor pooches that are left behind. I'm expecting all sorts of weird and wonderful dogs to be coming through this place and I'm figuring there will be a tale (or is that tail?) to tell. I also look after dogs that are being pulled from shelters by rescues. Sometimes they can't take a dog for a few days or weeks so I keep them here until they can enter proper foster care.
